My Home My Jurong
Singapore is a relatively small country compared to India. My first impression of Singapore was the greenery, the big buildings, the beaches, etc. Once I entered my HDB flat on the 10th floor. I was afraid and very scared; loneliness, aloofness, and many other feelings filled my mind. Even a day in this country did not appeal to me. It was my first encounter in a foreign country. As small as matchbox sticks, everything appears. Singapore’s Jurong West region was where I was. It has always been homely to me when I return to my home country after a period abroad. In this area, I shifted many houses, but all HDBs. Over the course of my 12 years in Jurong West, it became my home. You can find so much to do there. Jurong Lake Gardens is the most eye-catching feature and pride of my place, a beauty that should be explored and enjoyed.
I used to take my 5-month-old daughter down there. The local market on Jurong West Street 52 is one of my favorite marketplaces. Quality will be provided at a reasonable price. My kid and I used to explore that market every day. During the course, I learned a lot of marketing strategies and even made some friends with sellers. To begin with, I compared everything’s price with the Indian rupee. Over time, I made friends in playgrounds and explored the area. Several residential and community service centers are located in the area. Courses are offered at very reasonable prices at these centers. Newspapers, magazines, and books can be read there even in our spare time. Many events are organized at a minimal cost, especially for kids. The majority of the events were attended by my daughter and I enjoyed every minute of it. At that time, I was able to do all of that without earning a dollar.

Let’s talk about Jurong Lake gardens, the jewel of this place. Jurong Lake Gardens is Singapore’s new national garden. Designed to bring families and community members together, the garden is a people’s garden. The 90-hectare Gardens include Lakeside Garden (former Jurong Lake Park), Chinese and Japanese Gardens (Jurong Lake Gardens Central), and Garden Promenade (Jurong Lake Gardens East). Visit Lakeside Garden as of end-April 2019. Renovating the rest of the Gardens (including the Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden) is currently underway. There are many of them. The natural heritage of Jurong is displayed in this landscaped, yet naturalistic park. Man and nature can coexist on these trails.
